First edition of the first work, one of three editions the same year of the second (although the other two printings, both published in Vienna and entitled Lebensgeschichte des Grafen Suwarow-Rymnikskoy and Lebensgeschichte des berühmten siegreichen russisch-kaiser. General-Feldmarschalls en Chef, Grafen von Suwarow-Rymniskoy are much shorter: pp. 69 and pp. 64 respectively). A nice pairing of two German works, both published in the wake of recent Russian victories against the French in Italy, led by the great Suvorov and aided by the Cossacks, whose military tactics are analysed by Pöhlmann (1760–1848), a minister and teacher. Tannenberg, on the other hand, had served under Suvorov for 18 years, and writes from close quarters.
